When you are starting to find you feet in this place we call life, don’t be afraid of the roads less travelled. There are usually some interesting things to be found on the unbeaten path.
Ask yourself some questions, and provide honest answers. Questions like, if you want to just run in the middle of the pack and follow the herd, or do you want to lead the way and be the one that everyone looks to. Think of it this way, blend in or stand out, follow the herd or lead it. There are so many things that you can do. Nothing should stand in the way of your dreams and no one can dictate how you reach you goals.
This is not to say that life is not going to throw things in your path that will change your direction or how you reach your goal. There will always be things that happen to derail or change the trajectory of your life. It is how you handle those changes that is important.
In life, you will get knocked down. You will stumble and fall. These things are normal. But what do you do when that happens? Stay down, or get up and try again. For me, that answer is simple, get up and try again. But for many, its not that simple. I understand that there will be those who struggle to get back up and find it easier to stay down. And to those I would say, it’s not about doing what’s easier. It’s about doing what’s right. Getting back up is never easy, but always worth it.
So don’t just sit there and follow the beaten path. Face the world and carve your own path, then stand back and say “I did that!” Lead the pack and blaze the trail. Take the roads that are over grown or non existent. History is not made by following the rules. It is made by bending and even breaking the rules, making mistakes, and learning from them. Be unapologetically you.
